What Is the Bike to Work Scheme?
The Bike to Work Scheme encourages employees to cycle to and from work by offering tax savings on the purchase of a bike and safety equipment.
Under this scheme, your employer buys the bike for you, and you repay the cost through a salary sacrifice arrangement. This benefit is non-taxable, meaning you could save up to 52%, depending on your income tax rate.

How do I get a bike?
Ask your employer if they participate in the scheme and check their specific requirements. Then, choose the e-bike and accessories that best suit your needs — up to €1,500.
How do I pay?
Your employer pays for the bike upfront. You repay through a salary sacrifice, meaning deductions from your gross salary over a set period (typically under 12 months).
How often can I use the scheme?
You can use the scheme once every four years. The bike must be used mainly for commuting to and from work, either fully or partially.
